~6hrs of gameplay so far has consisted of: exploring and figuring out the mod, farming, chopping trees, mining, hunting boar, chasing looters, and transferring cargo. That seems like all I will be able to do for awhile with only 15 troops.
Fighting bandits is fun, and hunting is pretty good too, but the other tasks get boring pretty quick. What keeps me coming back is having something to work towards: need to hunt so I have money for a horse so I can carry more cargo so I can make money from a shipment, and I need more troops to protect the cargo...but now it seems like a bit of a standstill on progress. Maybe there could be a few more goals early game?
With the introduction of physically working in the villages, I thought, why not dive into the early role play aspect? Ever since I played the old Tradewinds game, I thought it would be cool to have a game where you start from nothing and follow a career path. It would be awesome if I could do that in Bannerlord - start as a lowly hunter/farmer etc, make some money, hire a few troops to fight looters as usual, and low troops (maybe tier 2 and below) could help on the farm. Once I make enough money, could buy a workshop to craft grain into flour, then a bakery to make bread. Obviously it would be a chore to do all those tasks yourself, so could hire recruits or even other new players to work the field and make the bread. Then you might have to defend the land from occasional village looters, or you could go out and hunt down bandits - bringing your higher tier troops to fight, and leaving the low tier to work and generate passive income. Could basically work up to being the village headman, then move on to buying a workshop in the city and keep the progression going: laborer->manager->village artisan->headman->city artisan/merchant->city manager->governor etc. Then there is always something to work towards, and how cool would it be to go to a village and get hired by another real person, or go to a city and an actual player is the guard commander and hires you to be a mercenary for them? This obviously would be a lot of work on the dev side so might not be worth it, but I think it would definitely make the mod incredible and exciting.
