Steam account unlink request SOLVED (mb)

Hello,
My Steam account is linked to an unknown Bannerlord Online account, and I cannot access the game.
When I try to log in with Steam, I get the message:
"Your current Steam account is already linked to another Bannerlord Online account."

I need my Steam account to be unlinked from the old account.

Please help me unlink my Steam account. Thank you.

Bannerlord Online does not offer the option to unlink it. When first linked, a warning is given that it can't be reversed. This method is added to prevent account sharing or selling.

I noticed an issue with my Bannerlord Online account. I have always used the same Steam account and the same email to play the game. The only thing that happened recently was a computer format. Other than that, nothing has changed—my Steam account and game account are still the same.


However, the game now gives me an error saying I am logged into the wrong Steam account. This should not happen, because I do not have any other Bannerlord Online accounts on any of my emails.
I would also like to mention that I created my Bannerlord Online account on May 4, 2025. That was the first and only time I ever made an account for this game. I even have proof of this — on Discord, there are messages where my friend sent me the official game link and told me how to register. So it is impossible for me to have a second account linked to my Steam.

My friend is also experiencing the same problem, so it seems like this may be a general issue.


Could you please inform us about the cause of this situation and let us know if there is a solution?

The error is pretty solid in what it says. That steam has been used with another BO account.
If your friend is experiencing the same problem, it makes me wonder if you ever used each others accounts and got them linked that way.

There is no workaround for this. It will only work in the combination that was used to link at the time. A steamname had to be entered when first linking, to verify the steam account being used.

You both have the game? We can't have spent $20 for nothing. If you'd like proof, I can share it with you. We're not even in the same family. We were actively playing the game in May 2025. Is there a solution? Or will we just keep doing this forever?

Because you used to play on your friends Steam, you have linked his steam to your BO account. This link can't be undone.

This would also mean you won't be able to use your BO account using the steam you now purchased Bannerlord on.

The situation happened because I previously played on my friend’s Steam account, and I didn’t realize the account would be permanently linked. Now I have purchased the game on my own Steam account and we simply want to play together, each on our own accounts.

Is there really no possible solution at all in this case? For example, any kind of unlink, reset, or exception — even a one-time fix?

I’m not trying to break any rules, just looking for a way to play properly with my own copy of the game.

Hello, there is no possibility to link new Steam account. Before linking your Steam account, user is being warned that Steam linking happens only once.
