would like clarity as well before proceeding. Discord was of little help, everyone basically said download trojan or dont play.
These notifications can on rare occasion happen and occur for a specific antivirus only. Other antivirus will not report it as so. The situation is known as a "false positive". You should be able to google your antivirus name in combination with false positive to find out more about this.
If it was an actual virus, many players would report it, because then all antivirus would report.
