Does influence gain reset at a certain time of the day, or is it 24h after getting the maximum amount from a source?

I ended up trying every single guide I could find, but the installer will simply not work(Internal error: Failed to expand shell folder constant "autopf64"). The compatdata also did not work. I did get it running by running the installer in a VM and following witek's guide with the files copy...
