Troubleshooting Guide
There are reasons to believe your connection to Bannerlord Online might be blocked.

Issue: The launcher fails to communicate properly with the server to verify if the version is correct and returns an error when trying to update.

The cause of this error can be at the Computer, Network Level or Internet Provider.

Potential Solutions:

Computer Level
This can be caused by a DNS, Proxi or Firewall. There may be more reasons. These are difficult to troubleshoot.
- Firewall: Add Bannerlord Online as an exception.

Network Level
This can be caused by specific Network security or Firewall. Some providers have integrated security that blocks websites in the router.
- Comcast: (Guide) Comcast blacklisting
- Router/Modem: Log in to your router/modem and check for blocked websites. The steps on how to do this depend on the brand of your router/modem. You may need to look up a manual for your router/modem.
- VPN: A VPN is capable of tunneling through security and can bypass content blocked on a network level.
- Hotspot: A hotspot, for example created on a phone, is a completely different network and comes with its own rules.

Internet Provider
Some countries have specific laws and can use geolocations to block content. In the same way, some providers can block access to specific websites for various reasons. Comcast is such an example, but this can fortunately be unblocked (See fix above)
The solutions for this are the same as for the Network Level, except these can not be solved by the end-user. A VPN will still be able to bypass this by choosing to connect through a different country.
