I was able to install the mod with Bannerlord 1.5.8 earlier today (currently all files are up-to-date). I can launch the game fine and get to the menu but when I select the server (I believe it is trying to put me into character customization), my game crashes. What can I do to fix this issue?

Wait it out, it's just loading... took mine about 3 minutes to load into Character creation, I thought it crashed myself since it seemed unresponsive.
yeah, it did that to me too, it will crash a few times and become more stable after each crash..
it crashed about 6 times for me in about 4 hours then after that it hasn't crashed since. played about 18 hours without a crash. (maybe more)
Restarting your computer might also help, although I have not done this.

Crashes after every battle, and most entering settlements for the second time.
Turn off V-sync, Turn off shadows, use medium settings, turn off motion blur.
Likewise, no V-sync on, high end hardware, recent drivers, 1.5.8, SSD.
Currently isn't playable unfortunately.
I've only been suggesting my setting because I haven't experienced a crash since I switched it, I was trying to be hopeful, my thought was to try and reduce the memory usage because that was a big problem for Vanilla back in the day.
set Sound channel to very low, turn off Anti aliasing, turn off V-Sync.
