This error can occur if you've previously had Bannerlord Online installed on a hard disk (location) that is no longer available.

Uninstall using Programs and Features
  1. Open the "Control Panel" (Not Settings) and from the "Programs" category, choose "Uninstall a program".
Note: This is different from the "Apps and features" found in the Settings menu.

  2. Attempt to uninstall Bannerlord Online.
Note: This will likely result in an error that it is unable to be found and should be removed.

  3. Reinstall Bannerlord Online.

Checking the Windows Register

!!! WARNING !!!
Exercise extreme caution when using the Registry Editor. If you edit the registry incorrectly, serious problems might occur that could require a complete reinstall of the operating system and result in data loss.
!!! WARNING !!!

  1. In the search box on the taskbar, type regedit, then select Registry Editor (Desktop app) from the results.
  2. Navigate to "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\BannerlordOnline".
  3. Look for the data listed for "GameDirectory". This will show a location on your computer in which Bannerlord Online believes you have Bannerlord installed.
    • If this location refers to a removable external hard drive, you can place this hard drive back and uninstall Bannerlord Online.
    • If you're confident in your skills, you can manually change the GameDirectory to the new location Bannerlord is installed in.
    • If you're not sure about the above 2 options, scroll down and use a Registery Cleaner.
Do not make any changes here unless you are 100% certain you know what you're doing!

Use a Register Cleaner software to remove dead entries.
  1. Download and install a Registery Cleaner, or run one if you already have it installed. (i.e. CCleaner)
  2. Run a scan of your register using the Registry cleaner software. If presented with a list, only remove the ones for Bannerlord Online.
  3. Re-install Bannerlord Online.
