The essence of the problem, your version of the game does not coincide with the version of steem, and thus BO.

How to fix it?

1) Open the folder in the path: "Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\bin\Win64_Shipping_Client".

2) Open notepad file "Version.xml"

3) Change the version of that is relevant to the BO (find out the version can be common chat BO discord).

Benefit!

The current version :

<Version>
<Singleplayer Value="e1.6.3.285789"/>
<Multiplayer Value="m1.6.3.285789"/>
</Version>

Warning:
If you get crashed with a "files corrupted" error, you should reconnect to the server several times.

Hi VRG thanks for this write up. I have found my version which do appear incorrect but Im unsure how to change the version as suggested. When opened there is nothing that allows me to type in new numbers. Or is this something we need to find and download?

Firstly, when you installed M&B2, open the game launcher and check what version it is at first. Then check what version the online mod requires.

Secondly, changing the XML file for the version only 'tricks' the launcher to allow you to load, but you may experience crashes or glitches that isn't experienced by others using a different build of the same version...

I mean you could try to install the latest beta hotfix and such on Steam, then rename the version file and turn off auto-update on Steam, and try the launcher for the online mod...

You need to open it with notepad in order to change the version.
