Can I play with one friend online using this?

So me and a friend want to start a new world and have two new people in the game
and both of us will play the game with our characters as in campaign
and we'll collect resources and armies and meet after a couple of days to fight and see who wins
can we do that using this? are there other mods that can help us do that?
