These errors seem to be related to a Firewall, which is why a hotspot or VPN is able to avoid the error.
Though I am unable to say if this is computer side or router side firewall.

That's not what caused my problem.
I've solved my problem in other ways.
hi,
Try checking local files in Steam. This often helps ;)

The error talked about in this post is "Server not responding", which occurs when you're kick back to the main menu. The game itself doesn't actualy crash.

This error can occur for a few reasons;
  • The Server crashes or closes (Not applicable here)
  • A player has a very poor or no internet connection (Think bad wifi)
  • Network Security (Firewalls) interfere with the connection
In case of the Network Security, several things could bypass this.
  • Connecting to a different network (VPN, Hotspot)
  • Switching to a different connection (LAN/WLAN)
  • Disabling Firewalls (Not recommended, but can be used for testing)
  • Changing DNS or Proxi settings. (Not recommended, as this can cut off your entire internet if done wrong)
